We had spent considerable time building a virtual model in many different iterations. The time has come to begin testing the structure and experiencing the form physically. The virtual process we used allowed us to easily extract, schedule and nest the ribs for cutting. Our initial thoughts were that due to each notch along a rib being at different angles it wouldn't be possible to slot all the pieces together. However we calculated a degree of tolerance into the notches to try and compensate for the different angles of each notch and it worked very well.
